The set-up is simple: two couples form a four-some and play nine-holes. After play, enjoy cocktails, dinner, and laughs!

Junior Programs

Offering youth the opportunity to learn, discover, grow, and develop in a safe and positive environment through their involvement in the Club’s youth programs, like the HMGC Junior Golf Programs, are an essential element of our identity. Youth at Highland learn to set and achieve individual and team goals while staying fit, having fun, socializing, making friends, and developing coordination, discipline, and confidence.
The primary goal for all of our Junior Golf Programs at Highland is to develop lifelong golfers with a passion and enthusiasm for the game. Our golf professionals strive to promote skill development, principles, enjoyment, and interaction among the juniors, through new activities, skills competitions, play days, and games.

The traditional Junior Program begins in June and ends in August with the Junior Club Championship. The Junior Program includes instruction, prizes throughout the year, and the Junior Club Championship.

(Starting New at Golf) SNAG golf is a FUN & UNIQUE way to introduce golf to juniors. It is designed for juniors ages 4-9 to become familiar with the basic fundamentals of the game with the use of colorful and unique equipment, along with proper rules and etiquette.  After completing this program, juniors often choose to enroll again and/or begin to apply their newfound SNAG skills toward their continued development of good golf habits at the driving range and golf course.

SNAG is taught as a progressive series of four one hour sessions TWICE A WEEK for two weeks, with rotating practice stations and culminating with a 4-hole SNAG golf course play day during the last session All equipment is supplied during each lesson and to bring home to practice.  A parent should attend/participate each session.
HMGC Friday Clinics follows the PGA Sports Academy curriculum. We have three levels; SPORT, PLAYER and CHAMPION. Each level has five areas that will help youth learn, develop, and practice the skills to become a better golfer and enjoy the sport of golf.  Our goal is to teach junior golfers of various skill levels and ages the basic elements of golf, while motivating them to play and learn on their own. Each level will develop the necessary physical and golf skill to practice, improve and enjoy the sport of golf.

The PGA Sports Academy curriculum includes:
  • Sportsmanship, Rules and Etiquette
  • Golf Skills - Challenges
  • Fitness and Nutrition
  • Golf and "Near Golf" Experiences
  • Golf and Physical Assessments
The season includes practices, 6-7 Interclub matches, All-Star Team + Post-Season Play. The PGA Junior League is a developmental program designed to socialize boys and girls, ages 9-13 to the game of golf. Players learn to play in a fun and competitive environment while competing with a partner in head-to-head matches. The matches are played using a less stressful scramble format, as opposed to individual stroke-play competition. This is a great way to get kids involved in playing the game! Golfers should be able to advance the ball and carry their own clubs.  Golfers will practice as a team and compete against other clubs in our area. Highland has also added a PGA Jr League for 14-16 year old students!
This league takes place August 20 - September 24 on Fridays, directly after school. Juniors will learn different formats that can be played; Stroke play, scramble, Best Ball, Stableford Points, Alternate Shot, Speed Golf!
